Wahine Po‘ai • Kalukalu Workspace
Wahine Po‘ai circles are inspired by kapa making traditions of our kupuna. Each circle draws a name from kapa that fluttered in the wind and was made from young wauke shoots called "ohiohi loa" or "nioniolo.”
KALUKALU was gauze-like in texture, it’s the name of a lacy-like fern and it originated on Kauaʻi.
